Harnoor Kaur Bhatia works as a Counselling Psychologist at The Mind Research Foundation in Chandigarh. A Masters in Psychology, Ms. Harnoor K Bhatia has a specialisation in Clinical Psychology from Christ University, Bangalore. Prior to this, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Arts with Psychology Honours from M.C.M. DAV College affiliated to Punjab University, Chandigarh.
Her main area of interest is Research and Therapy, especially Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Positive Psychology, Mindfulness and Transactional Analysis. Her preferred approach is eclectic since she believes that every individual is different and hence, does not subscribe to a one-size-fits-all solution.
She has hands on experience in working with people suffering from Schizophrenia, Bipolar disorder, Substance abuse, depression, anxiety etc. She had the opportunity to either observe or provide therapy to the mentally ill patients of the entire age spectrum.
In her previous experiences she has interned at NDDRC (Neuropsychiatry and Drug De-addiction cum Rehabilitation Centre), Chandigarh where her key responsibilities included observing, noting case histories, conducting tests and assessments and group therapies. She has also worked as an Intern at Victoria Hospital, Bangalore with similar aforementioned responsibilities working specifically with children. In 2016, she interned at Atma Shakti Vidyalaya Society, Bangalore, where she was introduced to a vast array of new therapeutic and assessment techniques. During her time there, she conducted individual therapy sessions, group therapy sessions, tests and assessments.
She is highly passionate about Positive Mental Health & Psychology and its application in everyday lives. In her words, Psychology is a learning paradigm of human behaviour and using it to better the human kind, is a blessing in itself. With Psychology, she aims to inculcate brighter lives each day with her knowledge and expertise through her penchant for Outreach initiatives.
