Break the Stigma by:
- Not sweeping mental health disorders under the rug and becoming compassionate about for people affected
- Addressing societal apathy towards people affected
- Addressing the lack of education and awareness on the subject the lack of adequate resources and approaches.
In other words, we could break the stigma by becoming mental health advocates. Be aware of your words. Educate yourself and others as well as support those in need.
End Stigma.
Attitudes and behaviours toward people with mental health issues need to change.
We can end stigma by breaking the silence, changing the image of people associated with mental illness and providing education on the dangers of stigma.
Ending stigma will help people:
* Seek the help they need
* Feel accepted, respected and equal
* Recover
So, lets Offer Hope, Encouragement and Support & STOP making people feel DIFFERENT!

Share your story
Too many people are made to feel ashamed. By sharing your story, you can help spread knowledge and perspective about mental health issues that could change the way people think about it. If you are in recovery, or are currently experiencing issues related to mental health and addiction, you can help break the barrier of stigma by sharing your story. Friends and family members are also welcome to share their story of how stigma impacted their lives.
Have a conversation about mental health
Just having a conversation about mental health – with a friend, family member or anyone else – can help to break down the silence and shame around the subject.

UNMUTE Campaign Champions are people across borders who use their own experience of mental health problems to change the way we all think and act about mental health.
